Prices have increased by up to 16 fils per litre, compared to the rates of February.
On Thursday, February 29, the UAE published the retail fuel prices for March 2024. The Ministry of Energy sets monthly fuel rates based on the global oil price average, adjusting for distribution companies’ operating costs, regardless of fluctuations.
The Fuel Prices Monitoring Committee raised gasoline and diesel prices for March by 15 to 16 fils per liter compared to February 2024 pricing. The revised pricing will be effective starting on March 1.
In March, the price of super gasoline “98” will increase by 15 fils per liter, hitting 3.03 dirhams, up from 2.88 dirhams in February. The price of Special gasoline “95” will rise by 16 fils, from 2.76 dirhams to 2.92 dirhams. E-Plus 91 gasoline will also increase by 16 fils, going up to 2.85 dirhams from 2.69 dirhams. In March, the price of diesel will increase by 17 fils per liter, rising from 2.99 dirhams in February to 3.16 dirhams.
The committee recommended three straight monthly reductions in gasoline and diesel prices starting in January 2024. The decrease varied from 13 to 14 fils per liter for gasoline and 19 fils per liter for diesel compared to December 2023 pricing.
Super 98 petrol will be priced at Dh3.03 per liter, up from Dh2.88 in February, while Special 95 will be priced at Dh2.92 per liter, up from Dh2.76 in the previous month.
E-Plus category petrol will be priced at Dh2.85 per liter, up from Dh2.69 in February, while diesel will cost Dh3.16 per liter, up from Dh2.99 in the previous month.
